When I switch them on the T8 fixture comes on, and then goes off when the T12 fixture comes on. I initially thought that the two things were connected, but it must be coincidental as the T8 fluorescent goes off after a few seconds even when I … WebbIf your light comes on immediately but takes a few seconds to get fully bright, it has a rapid-start ballast. One advantage of the rapid-start method is that by providing a low, continuous current rather than a strong surge, it prolongs the life of the fluorescent light and can be better for your overall light output.
