Doing this will also raise your overall operating range slightly [maybe 200 rpm]. Back in the day I made decent power with with GT40P's, Cobra intake 1.7rr and a Crane 2031 cam (270 rwhp). Might be hard to find one of those now, but they are out their if you are looking. Also, another good choice was the Steeda #19.

Ditch the GT40P heads. All out racing efforts with an almost unlimited budget can get that kind of RPM out of those heads but anything less than that won't do it. To make more power you have to do one of three things. More cubic inches, more RPM or better efficiency.

I would go with a cleanup of the GT40P heads, new springs, etc, and an Ford Racing 'F' cam. RPM Airgap, and the FAST EZ-EFI kit. You will get 340-360 FWHP. I also heard a rumor there is HP in putting 1.7 rockers on the exhaust... FFR4615 is Sold!! 818R is Sold!!
