Frank Proctor had a similar deal as that partial backstrap posted by Holmes375 on his G34 when I took a class with him. He had taken a beavertail backstrap and cut it below the pin. I think it's a great idea and I've really thought about doing that but I'm exceedingly lazy and don't want to do it on all my guns.
